Educator Spotlight | Ashley Baldwin

Ashley Baldwin believes working in art education is her calling. This was solidified her senior year of high school when she took an AP Art Studio class with Mrs. Neumyer. Ashley went to high school at duPont Manual High School in Louisville, Kentucky where she was born and raised. Ashley’s passion for art and children is evident in her art classroom where there is a sense of community and understanding of the topics being taught. Ashley looks forward to greeting scholars each morning and beams a little brighter when students use artistic techniques that she’s taught them – such as warm and cool colors – to write her a note or draw her a picture.

If Ashley could have any other job in the world, she would still want to work in art and education as an education liaison through an art museum. Maybe we’ll see her heading programs at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art someday! Ashley loves the pride, perseverance, and resilience that is embedded in the Memphis community. Around town, you can find her supporting local businesses.

A few things you may not know about Ashley: She wants to meet Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey because they embody what it means to be a true boss with style, grace, and intelligence. She can also recite the alphabet backwards! Next time you see Ashley in the hallways at CPL, ask her to prove it!
