Aszure Brown | Educator Spotlight
January 25, 2019

Born in Memphis, educated in Memphis, and now teaching in Memphis, Aszure Brown, 4th grade teacher at Cornerstone Prep Denver, loves to inspire her scholars to learn.
“The part of my job which brings me the most joy is piquing my students' interest to learn,” says Dr. Brown. “When I look out at the students in my class, I enjoy seeing their interest in the material being taught, especially those students who may begin the year with little to no interest at all in what you are teaching.”
Dr. Brown continues, “Then one day you look up and they are sitting up straight, asking deep thinking questions, taking notes when you didn’t ask them to take, and tracking which ultimately leads to academic growth! All of these student actions reassure me that I am making a difference in their lives, which at the end of the day is the ultimate joy factor.”
When she is not teaching, Dr. Brown enjoys bowling, spending time with her family, and going to church on Sunday mornings. You might also find Dr. Brown dreaming about her next gig – working for the FBI!
