Hallie Klunder | Educator Spotlight

Hallie Klunder, kindergarten teacher at Cornerstone Prep Lester Campus, is living out her life-long dream.

“I knew from a young age that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I loved my teachers throughout school and attributed my love for learning to them,” says Hallie.

Memphis Techer Residency provided the way for her to realize her dream. “In college I was introduced to Memphis Teacher Residency, a master’s program that equips teachers instructionally, socially, and spiritually to teach in underserved schools in Memphis. I visited MTR and fell in love with both Memphis and the vision of the city has for education,” says Hallie. “Equal education is so important to the vitality of this city, and I deeply desire to see justice brought to ALL students in Memphis. It is a privilege to play such a small part in the larger story of restoring education in Memphis.”

Hallie was born in Jonesboro AR, received her BSE at the University of Arkansas and M.Ed at Union University. She enjoys playing the piano, spending time with close friends and eating at many of Memphis’ great restaurants.
