Cornerstone Prep is Expanding
December 12, 2014
Because of the great success of Cornerstone Prep's flag ship school, the Achievement School District approved our application to expand onto a second elementary school campus for the 2015-2016 school year. Today, the ASD announced that Cornerstone Prep will serve Frayser students at Denver Elementary school beginning next fall. We are honored that we will have the opportunity to serve more students in our city.
The ASD worked with Cornerstone Prep, Shelby County School leaders, and Achievement Advisory Council (AAC) to match a school and community that would be a good fit for us and the parents and students of the historic Frayser neighborhood. The ASD school matching process takes more than 3 months, during which the AAC works with Priority List schools to identify a match with high performing charter operators. The AAC engages, informs, and empowers families, students, and school communities across Memphis to amplify the community's voice in the school matching process. At the end of that process, the ACC strongly recommended that Cornerstone Prep be matched with Denver Elementary.

Over the next few weeks, Cornerstone Prep will engage in conversations with parents, teachers and the community, building relationships around the Frayser community and preparing to launch the school in August 2015. Please
