Cub Conversations: Cultivating Leaders

At Cornerstone Prep Lester, a select group of students are members of Cub Conversations, an after school group encouraging, teaching and challenging students to cultivate positive leadership. Jocelyn Lee, School Counselor, and Communities in Schools partner, Jaida Thornton, lead this group and, with the support of great community partners, various volunteers have shared their time with students, sharing their experiences and wisdom.

Cub Conversations recently partnered with Lester Prep's Lester Elite, a group of select middle school students also learning and cultivating positive leadership skills, to encourage learning across the entire Lester campus.

The club's most recent topic was on positive group membership, including speakers from sororities and fraternities, who went above and beyond for our students, sharing about respect, self-esteem and most importantly, attending and succeeding in college. Our students were engaged and curious, obviously listening and learning!

We are incredibly thankful for the impact our community partners are having on students across the Lester campus, pouring into them as they learn, stretch and grow!
