CPL Hosts First Annual Spelling Bee

And the winner is...

Danesha Melvin!

Cornerstone Prep Lester hosted the 1st Annual Spelling Bee on November 22! We're proud to announce the winners of the bee, as follows:

Danesha Melvin - 1st place
Curtis Chapman - 2nd place
Starla Gates - 3rd place

CPL staff members Jonathan Penn and Victoria Tigrett organized this spelling bee, a proud first for our school! We send out a hearty thank you both to Mr. Penn and Ms. Tigrett and to each classroom teacher for hosting class bees and sending us 20 great spellers to compete in the schoolwide bee.

It doesn't end there. Next, Danesha and Curtis will study and prepare to represent our school at the city-wide spelling bee in February. Congratulations to our winners and all the students who participated and worked so hard in this competition!
