Graham Farnsworth | Educator Spotlight
February 19, 2018
Running. BBQ. Fellowship with family and friends. Watching students become invested readers. These are all things fifth-grade teacher Graham Farnsworth loves.
Born in Charlottesville, VA and growing up in Wheaton, IL, Graham came to Memphis a part of the first cohort of CEG teachers who founded Cornerstone Prep Lester Campus. “I believe I was given a set of skills that are best used and challenged in education and I can think of no more rewarding place to use them than in an urban setting,” says Graham.
Graham, an avid and powerful runner, applies the discipline necessary for running long distances to his preparation and success in the classroom, where Graham led his 5th graders to an amazing 1.8 years of growth in math and 1.8 years of growth in reading in the first four months of the year. One might say Graham has his students joyfully running towards college and a life of leadership.
