Marilyn Conerly | Educator Spotlight

Marilyn Conerly joined the CEG team this year, serving as the Dean of Instruction for CPL, focused on students in grades kindergarten through second grade. Marilyn loves her new organization. “I love that CEG is an organization who cares and is mission driven to serve! Everyone within the organization serves with a spirit of kindness, knowledge, and wisdom in their everyday work,” said Marilyn.

Marilyn was born in Washington Parish, Louisiana, and is a life-long learner, who has dedicated herself to education. Marilyn attended Southern University in Baton Rouge for her Bachelors Degree, then earned her Masters in Education at the University of New Orleans and her Education Specialist degree from Nova Southeastern in Florida. She did not stop there, though! Marilyn is currently finishing a Doctoral program at Gwynedd Mercy University.

Since arriving in Memphis, Marilyn has enjoyed exploring downtown Memphis restaurants, art festivals, and singing karaoke.

Marilyn’s favorite movie of all time is Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Marilyn resonates with the quote from that film: "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
