Educator Spotlight | Brianna Guarino

Brianna Guarino came to Memphis from Naperville, Illinois. She studied political science at Allegheny College and received her master’s degree in education from Christian Brothers University – Go Bucs!
Brianna works in education because she believes that everybody deserves an equal shot to be successful in life. Brianna loves seeing her ESL students grow by leaps and bounds throughout a school year
“Students may come to me not knowing how to read sight works like ‘the’ or ‘and’ and I get to watch them grow from that point. I’m so lucky to be a part of that,” she beamed.
This year, Brianna loved seeing the pride her students took in their performance during World Culture Day. Brianna may love working with students, but she also misses the afterschool snacks her mom would have waiting for her when she was a student herself. She still eats afterschool snacks, but she must make them herself now!
Around town, Brianna loves riding her bike on the Greenline, watching a show at the Orpheum Theatre, and hanging out at Muddy’s Bake Shop. You may not know that Brianna was a vegan for years – and then she moved to Memphis!
