Michelle Lyons is a native of Carbon Hill, Alabama. Michelle has six siblings and is the proud mom of a 10thgrader. Michelle earned her BS in Education at Auburn University at Montgomery, MS in Education at the University of Montevallo, +45 certification from Cumberland University and in 2015, completed Relay’s National Principal Academy Fellowship. Michelle believes wholeheartedly that being an educator is her life’s purpose. She feels that the challenging and demanding work of transformative education yields much more than data and results. Its purest byproduct is being blessed to have built a legacy of love, compassion, and high expectations. Her favorite poem is an excerpt from Marian Anderson’s “Our Deepest Fear.” Michelle specially appreciates that line that states, “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same.”
Bridgette Simmons is a native Memphian and graduate of “The High School," (Central). She earned Bachelor's Degree from Christian Brothers University and her M.Ed, from Union University. She enjoys spending time with family, event planning, designing centerpieces, reading books, online shopping, traveling and solving logic puzzles.
Bridgette as one daughter, Britney, one son-in-love Stephen and one grand puppy, Bijou.
She is known for giving her scholars the following mantras: "Intelligent people communicate", "Your demographics don't determine your destiny", and "Excellence is the expectation, all day, everyday, everywhere".
She chooses to work in urban education because she want to positively impact generations of families and give them valuable life lessons and the educational tools to achieve a better life.
